in the desert
Your guides will lead you through Cholla Forests side canyons teeming with desert wildlife such as red-tail hawks, lizards, desert tortoise, and jackrabbits. Spring rains produce frequent encounters with waterfalls and streams. The summer heat brings with it Desert Bighorn sheep, thirsty for the waters of the nearby Colorado River. Since the Yuman and Mojave tribes inhabited the area there are petroglyphs scattered as art on the rocks and grinding stones found in the knobby hills. Also, old mine shafts scattered across the landscape with one of the biggest mining booms in state history, occurring in the El Dorado Canyon around 1859.
When you ride into the valley and toward the mining town of Nelson you will see the remnants of old buildings and the Techatticup mine that is supposedly haunted. Nevada is dotted with many ghost towns, but when else can you find a ghost mine? Formerly known as the Savage Mine, photographers claim they have often captured photos of spirits or ghosts. The mine itself has been restored and preserved over the last decade along with a number of buildings at the mine site. Across from the mine is the historic 1861 building which serves as a museum to the area and to the Techatticup Mine. Here you can browse through a display of old photographs, tools and other mining memorabilia.
This adventure is perfect for both beginners and advanced alike. You'll be exploring Eldorado Canyon for about 2.5 hours on your ATV, combined with a guided tour of the Techatticup Gold Mine in Nelson. Your guide is a local expert knowledgeable in desert ecology, flora and wildlife and certified in CPR/First Aid.

Thank you for helping us to organise the Grand Canyon trip for our large party. It was simply a wonderful experience for us all. The plane ride was amazing and not sure I can fine words to describe what I thought of the canyon itself. It was simply breath-taking. From the transfer drivers, to the ladies on the desk who checked us in, to the wonderful pilots everyone went out of their way to ensure we had a great time. Thanks again, Jenny
Thanks Grand Canyon Tour Company for a wonderful day on the South Rim tour Monday 9th March. I make particular thanks to the driver (bus 1), Mark, whom went above and beyond with the customer service received for this tour. He was an absolute gentleman, who always had a smile, willing to assist and was very knowledgeable! My highlight of the tour was to see and feel snow for the 1st time (back home in Australia, snow is a non event). I couldn't have asked for a better way to see snow then at the Grand Canyon. The Grand Central Cafe was a delight to have lunch with a beautiful selection of food! The tour price was exceptional and value for money!! We look forward to visiting your beautiful city again. Until next time! Thank you and with love, from your Australian visitors
Hi There!! Just a note to tell you how much we enjoyed the trip to the South Rim on Oct. 26. The driver was so well informed & knew all kinds of trivia that he shared with us.George

I joined to get Williams at Grand Canyon Railway Hotel, got a train, and picked up at Grand Canyon. I miss the time, I was looking for the bus. The bus driver was looking for us and took us to Las Vegas. The driver had a good job to people make comfortable. We could enjoy very much. Thank you very much for our driver yesterday. You really have a good driver. Good job and good conversation. Nobuko
