There is no doubt why the Grand Canyon is one of the seven natural wonders of the world visited by over 4.5 million people each year. At 100 years old, the national park is a World Heritage site covering 1,218,375 acres. The canyon itself is vast, at 6,000 feet at the deepest point and a span of 18 miles at its widest point. Many plants and animals in the canyon are rare, endangered, or exist only here.

A mere 30 minutes outside of Las Vegas, on the border of Arizona and Nevada, is another wonder. The Hoover Dam is a man-made marvel and is considered one of the wonders of the engineering or industrial world. It harnesses the power of the Colorado River, providing hydroelectric power to 1.3 million people each year. It was constructed with five million barrels of concrete, reinforced with 45 million pounds of steel, weighing in at a staggering 6.6 million tons and is 60 stories tall.
If you and your family are living in or visiting the Las Vegas area, take advantage of the convenience, comfort, and in-depth knowledge that our Hoover Dam Tours can offer. Since it is on the way to the Grand Canyon, why not take advantage of the opportunity to see two wonders of the world in one trip? On the rim of the canyon, near 7,000 feet the air will be cool in the early morning or in the evening. The temperatures in the canyon are very different the lower you go into the canyon, the hotter it gets. Shorts, a light shirt, and a windbreaker are recommended for the warmer months. Summer rains do occur n Arizona, too. Since the Hoover Dam weather is like the Las Vegas weather, wear clothing that is comfortable wearing in Las Vegas the morning of your tour.
Ankle support and traction are a must in the Grand canyon. Shoes should be comfortable, broken in, and laced up tight to keep our feet secure.
